George's mother was Minnie Plumridge nee Summerfield. She was the sister of Emily Wilks, mother of Albert Wilks. She was also a cousin of the father of Samuel and Joseph Summerfield. However George would also have been related to Reuben and Arthur Smith through his great uncle who was the Summerfield boys' grandfather.
