The location of Dolly Walker's, approximately opposite the hairdressers

A shop that many Heathens knew,
With shelves packed high and wide,
It stood to serve our basic needs
And long the queue inside.
No fridges did we have back then
To store things such as cream,
You simply took your chances
When you bought it ‘sold as seen’.

This was no more than a large timber shed and rather basic but it served the needs of this end of the village for anything needed urgently. It was started by Dolly's father, Arthur, but later taken over by his daughter.
