Leonard Savill's family came from Ilford in Essex. His parents must have arrived in Flackwell Heath before most of their children had married because three of Leonard's sisters married into local families. His sister, Mabel, became the wife of Arthur Wilks who was a cousin of the Wilks boys on the war memorial. It is therefore likely that Savill descendants still live in the village today.
