Albert is descended from a large family whose roots go back to Nettlebed in Oxfordshire. Due to his uncle William Henry's marriage to a Howard and then his cousins, Emily and John, marryng into the Weedon and Stallwood families he is connected to other names on the war memorial. Some of these connections are too complex to work out at the present time and only time will tell!
The 1911 census records that Albert and his brother Henry were boarding at Heath End Cottage, Richard Whapshott's house which was next to Heath End Farm. They were both farm labourers.

Albert was the uncle of Simeon Sarney who tended the Flackwell Heath War Memorial until Sim's own death in 1981.
