Tom Skull, he came
from Wiltshire,
From Dauntsey so they
say,
And finding work in
Wycombe
He thought he’d like
to stay,
He had a wife called
Mary
And six children,
girls and boys,
And they flourished
in the Chilterns
With its woods and
other joys.
The Skulls came from the
area around Dauntsey in
Wiltshire. Thomas is likely to have been the son of a Charles
Skull. Mary Clark is most
likely to have been one of the chair-making Clarks but her origins are
still unclear. Their children Charles, Thomas and Jeoffrey were all
linked to the Bucks furniture industry.
