Patty Griffits, nice young girl,
A lass with good connections,
Met John Thompson, working lad,
With whom she shared affections.
Her Griffits blood, of Chiltern stock,
Was sure to pass inspection
And she provided girls and boys
Beneath his close protection.

Patty was the sister of John Griffits, Queen Square saddler, and their sister Elizabeth Griffits who married Charles Skull. She married John Thompson, a publican in Pauls Row, possibly of The Angel.
