No early picture exists of Upper Derehams Farm	The lane to the farm today

Upper Derehams came to be
The Derehams Farm which we still see
But hidden up its narrow lane
Many know it just by name.
Its farmland spread both up and down
With grass for hay grown all around.
A rural heaven on the hill
And much of it remains here still.

The Gurney family of Upper Derehams Farm lived here before and after the First World War. The farmland spread across a large area, some of which has been used for housing, and another plot is now the Altona Road Cemetery. There are still Gurney's living in the area today.
