The post office of long ago
Kept distant cousins in the know
Though many miles may separate
You and them from Grandma's gate.
A letter, postcard, parcel too,
Were different ways to tell your news
But faster methods came to be
By laying wires beneath the sea
And telegrams, like emails now,
Took their place on history's brow
Before the phone came into view
- For there is always something new!

Loudwater Post Office was at the end of Ebenezer Cottages, where the London Road meets Derehams Lane. This was a busy crossroads for horse drawn buses along the London Road and for traffic heading to the mills along the Wye valley.
