Magpie Lodge, along the lane,
Still looks very much the same
With timber frontage, quite ornate,
(But now a slightly different gate),
Yet still it seems a quiet retreat
With hedges trim and garden neat,
And just a step to reach the greens
And join the Wycombe golfing scene.

Magpie Lodge was part of Rayners estate which was owned by Sir Philip Rose, solicitor to Disraeli. The estate was eventually sold and the land later became Wycombe Heights Golf Centre.
