Lower Derehams Farm


No early picture exists of Lower Derehams Farm	The lane from the lost farm

Two farms sat here, along this track,
Their farmland lying back to back,
The Upper Farm you had to pass
To get to Lower, which was last,
The rise and fall of hilly lanes
Perhaps the reason for their names.

There were once two farms here, side by side. Upper and Lower. Lower Derehams Farm was at the end of the farm track which passed the farmhouse for Upper Derehams Farm. It seems odd to reach the Upper Farm before reaching the Lower one as the lane would appear to continue up the hill at this point but presumably Lower Derehams Farm was nestled within the hillside at this point. There is no sign of it now.
