Old Forge Road wasn't a very long road, well it was really a dirt road. If you went to the bottom & turned right a narrow path took you onto Station Road where
there was a newsagents, a butcher & Jennings stores. If you turned left at the bottom it took you into a field where they played football, and then you carried on into
two other meadows that then carried on into Wooburn. I remember the bottom meadow was covered in cowslips in the spring & numerous wild flowers throughout the summer.
Going back to Old Forge Road, a little way down, was another path onto Station Road called Birdcage Walk.
