As it looks today


Fassetts Farm of long ago
Has seen the village grow and grow
And oh, how picturesque it was,
But should we now condemn its loss
When modern life expects the cost
Of giving up what now is lost.

Fassett's Farmhouse stood beside the farmland which is now part of the postwar council estate which stands here now. The farmhouse itself still remains on the corner of Station Road and Queensmead Road.
