Dorothy Skull was the youngest daughter of Charles Edwin Skull. Afer the First World War she travelled to India to be with her sister Maud
whose husband was working for the Indian railways. Dorothy met and married a British army officer in India and had two daughters
but they split up after he had a scandalous affair with another officer's wife. Fred Skull, Dorothy's brother, helped her to buy
the house along Rectory Avenue so that she would be able to live in Wycombe near the rest of her family.
