My
parents both died far too young
And so, to find my way,
I
came to visit Wycombe folk
Who kindly let me stay,
I
worked within a drapers
With a pawnshop just next door,
And
felt just like a second son,
So couldn’t want for
more,
And Emma, she’s a
lucky find,
A
Williams/Gibbs by birth
For she'll inherit money
So a
bride of utmost worth.
James
George Peace was the son of Samuel Peace and Elizabeth Williams, he was
born in Stevenage.
He married Emma Ellen Gibbs, the daughter of John Gibbs and
Margaret Williams. He worked, initially, for William Redington in Canal
Side, branched out on his own in White Hart Street and then later moved
to Queen Square.
