Wayside is where Beryl lived,
Her home for many years,
She viewed the village with much pride
And held its stories dear.

Local history buff was she
Who quite deserved this label,
She saw the way things used to be
So, thank you, Mrs Fabel.

Beryl Fabel, daughter-in-law of Mrs Fabel, senior, (who ran the Infant Welfare Centre) was a keen local historian and her notes have helped to record village stories of that time.
