This plot behind the Cherry Tree
Had just one house, not more,
But homes, much needed as you’ll see,
Were built here by the score.

Although you'll find the Common now
Has early homes still here,
New dwellings rise amongst them all
Which one day we’ll hold dear.

This was once a large family home and garden but it was knocked down sometime in the early 60s to make way for more housing. In earlier times it is believed that there was a green (corrugated iron?) building close to the same spot.
