Mars, photographed with a 355 mm (14-inch) telescope on 27 January 2010 from High Wycombe, Bucks, UK. Mars was nearly at opposition -- that is, when it approaches closest to Earth, though on this occasion the planet was only 13 arc seconds in diameter.
