Private 20287 2nd Battalion, Y Company, Essex Regiment
Died of wounds on 7th January 1918 aged 24
Remembered with Honour in Duisans British Cemetery
Grave reference V.E. 16

Frank was born in 1898 in Flackwell Heath to Caroline, father unknown although Caroline was married. Although this was shown as his date of birth on the 1911 census it does not match with the age given on his later military record, unless as with lots of young men enlisting, he gave a false date of birth. By 1911 the family were living at Queen's Cottages, Loudwater. Caroline worked at a local paper mill as did Frank and two brothers and two sisters who were all aged 13 or less apart from eldest brother James. Frank had another brother still at school and a baby sister.
Frank enlisted in the Essex Regiment at High Wycombe and was attached to 'Y' company of the 2nd Battalion. He is formerly shown as service number 85386 in the RHA and RFA, again indicating that his true date of birth had not been divulged. Private Reeves died on 7th January 1918 of wounds suffered in Flanders at an earlier engagement at the given age of 24, although if the 1911 census is to be believed he may have been as young as only 19 at time of death.
A very short entry in the Bucks Fee Press dated 22nd February 1918 reported that Frank had died of wounds but with no date given. Frank is remembered with honour at in the Duisans British Cemetery, France.
