James Anderson

Bottle Cottage

Bottle Cottage, now demolished, was sistuated near to the Cherry Tree pub. The supply of bottle bottoms, which decorated the window surrounds, were obviously very near at hand! The old garden wall of the cottage can still be seen by the PO pillar box today. Anderson descendants remember it as a very antiquated cottage with very poor facilities - and with its own route to the pub hatchway where beer could be readily purchased.
