The Old King of Prussia

Location of The Old King of Prussia
(picture from SWOP website)
and as it looks today

This pub beside the river Wye
Has seen some change as years go by
Not just its name but passing trade
Has changed the way its money's made,
Now food and drink by riverside
Replace old ways which now have died.
The workers on their way to bed
Would have a pint or two instead,
With pipe and 'yarning' round the fire
Until at last they'd all retire,
Their wives, no doubt forever weary,
Cursed their ways which cost them dearly.

The Old King of Prussia was renamed The George V. Although modernised it is still in its original location in the bend of the Wye along the London Road.
