The church today
St Peter's Church was erected by mill owner William Davis. This wealthy benefactor had the original church built in a style he was familiar with -
so it looked very much like a mill. Fortunately it has seen several changes since then.
Originally a chapel of ease it was simply known as Loudwater Church and was not called St Peter's until much later.
Do take a look at the plaques on the inside walls and the beautiful stained glass windows which commemorate local residents.
