Old Baptist Chapel

Old Baptist Chapel used as a shop
and as it looks today

This Baptist chapel of the past
Was not, so it appears, the last
For as its congregation grew
They moved along to something new.
The plaque above the chapel door
Just states its age but nothing more
And only record books will prove
Exactly when they chose to move.

The building which was once the Baptist chapel is still in Station Road. It backs onto the Wye and is now a design studio. With both non-conformist and conformist chaples of worship now available (St Peter's was originally a Chapel of Ease), Loudwater was able to provide religious teaching to a wide local, and visiting, population.
