Reference number RHW : 01285

This was the seat of the Earls of Carrington, Robert Smith, Robert John Smith (who provided land for the establishment of Wycombe Cemetery), and Charles Robert Smith. They owned and lived at Wycombe Abbey. Robert Smith's brother was John Smith (a member of the select committee who pushed through the Anatomy Act of 1832) whose son was Martin Tucker Smith. Although there is a Carrington vault in All Saints Church Robert John Smith is buried in Moulsoe at his Gayhurst estate. However, other Smith/Carrington relations are buried in vaults in Wycombe Cemetery.
