This once was heathland full of gorse
Long before the golf club course,
And there was probably little here
Apart from farms which stood quite near.
Now houses share this lovely view
But other folk enjoy it too
For footpaths lie beside the greens
Which let you see the valley scenes.
At ‘Seekers Green’, the Webb’s old home,
These lovely views were always shown
For they had moved here from the town,
With all its housing up and down,
And it was always nice to see
The golfers as you drank your tea.
Mr Webb was a High Wycombe solicitor, and he and his wife lived in several houses in the village at different times.
