Is anyone listening?

They say that I’ve no memory,
Well, that’s what I’ve been told,
They think it doesn’t matter much
Because I’m very old.

They say that I’ve no memory,
I think that’s what they said,
They think it doesn’t matter much
So long as I am fed.

They say that I’ve no memory,
Or something odd like that,
They think it doesn’t matter much
And give a patient pat.

But now I’ve lost my memory
I’m bereft and all alone,
To me it matters very much
To lose my life, my soul, my home.
